Version: 4.7 (for Mac)

InVivoStat can be installed on a Mac, however the process is more complicated than the windows version. The process involves four stages, you will need to first install InVivoStat, then install R and finally open R and run a script to install the required R packages. To do this:

  1. Download the DMG file for InVivoStat version 4.7. The file auto installs when it is mounted.
  2. Download and install R.
  3. Download and open the RPackagesInstall.txt file.
  4. Open the R program (you installed in Stage 2), and copy and paste the text within the RPackagesInstall.txt file into the R console. The program should run automatically and install all the required R libraries.

It seems that macOS Big Sur onwards has issues where a symlink to Rscript is missing or misconfigured after the R install (resulting in InVivoStat claiming that R is not installed). To resolve this run the following two lines in the terminal:

sudo ln -s /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/4.2/Resources/bin/R /usr/local/bin

sudo ln -s /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/4.2/Resources/bin/Rscript /usr/local/bin

Version: 4.7 (for Linux)

InVivoStat can be installed on Linux (only tested on Ubuntu so far), however the process is more complicated than the windows version. The process involves four stages, you will need to first install InVivoStat, then install R and finally open R and run a script to install the required R packages. To do this:

  1. Download the appimage file for InVivoStat version 4.7
  2. Download and install R.
  3. Download and open the RPackagesInstall.txt file.
  4. Open the R program (you installed in Stage 2), and copy and paste the text within the RPackagesInstall.txt file into the R console. The program should run automatically and install all the required R libraries.
